HADDO VOICES 2012, HADDO ARTS FESTIVAL

In the process of painting I selected spaces, shapes, colours and patterns of Haddo House, which I transformed into a new dream like abstract spaces. The imagery I have created is based on the process of painting itself, deconstruction, and reconstruction of simplified forms and shapes. Lifelessness of these forms signifies silent voice of the Haddo House with an essence of its past history. Colour and light play an important part in my practice. The act of painting brings an element of unplanned discovery which comes with the resolution of the painting; this is often unknown for me and makes the whole experience very exciting.
